The Professional School of Setúbal is a case of success, quelity and pretige in education
The Professional School of Setúbal is an initiative of the City Council. It was created in the academic year 1990/1991 with the technical and pedagogical support of the Escola Superior de Tecnologia do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal, under the program contract signed on August 24, 1990, between the Ministry of Education and the City Council. from Setubal.
It is currently owned by the Fundação Escola Profissional de Setúbal, an institution created by the municipality of the city. In 2000/2001, in order to respond to the challenge posed by the growth in demand and the need to train qualified staff that the region lacks, the school began operating in a building designed by the architect Manuel Salgado and built from scratch in the Manteigadas neighbourhood.
The School has excellent conditions that allow it to pursue an educational project that aims to promote a wide range of activities in the areas of initial training and adult qualification, such as fully equipped classrooms, laboratories, workshops, auditorium, library and resource centre, bar and cafeteria, support and work offices for teaching staff. Over thirty years of existence, the School has been increasing the number of courses and classes, diversifying the offer in the different training areas of level IV.
